Bedford County GOP 2026

Official Statement from the Bedford County Republican Party
As many in the community are already aware, the Republican mayoral candidate Chad Fletcher announced his withdrawal from the Bedford County Mayoral race due to an unexpected medical event. The Bedford County Republican Party proudly affirms that Chad remains our official Republican candidate and will stay on the ballot.
We stand firmly behind Chad in this election. If he wins and later determines that his health prevents him from fulfilling the duties of the office, he will have the option to step down, at which point the standard vacancy process would be followed.
Until then, our focus remains united on supporting our Republican ticket. We encourage all voters to get out and vote for Chad and our conservative candidates! For more information on the upcoming election dates and polling locations, please visit the Bedford County Election Commission.

  • We believe in American exceptionalism.
  • We believe the United States of America is unlike any other nation on earth.
  • We believe America is exceptional because of our historic role — first as refuge, then as defender, and now as exemplar of liberty for the world to see.
  • We affirm — as did the Declaration of Independence: that all are created equal, endowed by their Creator with inalienable rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
  • We believe in the Constitution as our founding document.
  • We believe the Constitution was written not as a flexible document, but as our enduring covenant.
  • We believe our constitutional system — limited government, separation of powers, federalism, and the rights of the people — must be preserved uncompromised for future generations.
  • We believe political freedom and economic freedom are indivisible.
  • When political freedom and economic freedom are separated — both are in peril; when united, they are invincible.
